About

Markets for Christ exists from a simple yet profound conviction: Christ is Lord over every sphere of life—including commerce, trade, and culture. The marketplace is not neutral ground. It is a mission field, a discipling environment, and a powerful engine for shaping values, loyalties, and futures.

Dr. Voddie Baucham believed deeply that the Christian faith must extend beyond the walls of the church and into the everyday realities of work, economics, and cultural production. He understood that ideas are sustained not only by preaching and teaching, but by institutions, industries, and economies shaped by biblical truth. Markets for Christ was formed in that conviction.

From its earliest stages, Dr. Baucham helped articulate and affirm the vision behind Markets for Christ as a means of creating and cultivating a distinctly Christian economy—one where believers could support one another, steward resources faithfully, and build businesses and platforms ordered by God’s Word rather than the spirit of the age. He saw the marketplace as a strategic front in the work of discipleship, where Christian conviction could be lived out with integrity, courage, and excellence.

Markets for Christ exists to connect Christian makers, entrepreneurs, creators, and consumers in a shared ecosystem of trust and theological clarity. It is not merely a directory or a platform for commerce, but a framework for cultural engagement—encouraging believers to build, buy, and invest in ways that honor Christ and strengthen the church.

In helping shape this vision, Dr. Baucham lent his theological clarity and cultural insight to ensure that Markets for Christ would be rooted not in pragmatism, but in principled Christian conviction. The platform reflects his belief that faithful Christians must not retreat from culture, nor accommodate it, but build enduring alternatives grounded in truth.

Though Dr. Baucham has gone to be with the Lord, the vision he helped affirm continues. Markets for Christ stands as one expression of his broader conviction: that Christ’s lordship extends to all of life, and that faithful obedience includes how we labor, trade, create, and steward the resources God has entrusted to us.
