On Tuesday afternoon we got a call from our adoption agency.  Our caseworker asked to speak to both me and my wife, Bridget.  Once we were both on the telephone, she simply said, “It’s time!”  We knew what she meant the instant she said it.  Another birthmother had chosen us to be the family into whose care she would entrust her child.  Although these have been difficult times for the Baucham family, we knew the answer before the question was asked.  We are always ready and willing to take another child into our home.

On Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 we had a teleconference with an adoption agency in another part of the state.  By 6:30 we were on the road.  Bridget and I drove six-and-a-half hours and got there at 1AM.  The next afternoon (Thursday) we were back on the road with our fifth child, Judah Benjamin.  We arrived at home at about 9PM and a number of our friends were there waiting to greet our new son. 

I cannot tell you how grateful we are that God has allowed us to expand our family through  the ministry of adoption.  Little Judah is the third child we have adopted, and it is our sincere hope that he will not be the last.
