I have been anxiously anticipating Ben Stein’s new movie, “Expelled:  No Intelligence Allowed.”  I must say I was not disappointed.  Stein takes on Darwinism in ways that are completely unexpected.  He tackles issues like racism, eugenics, planned parenthood, Hitler, etc.  The movie features intelligent, articulate spokesmen and exposes the blatant, irrational discrimination faced by those in academia who dare to question Darwinian Orthodoxy. 

This movie is not about Six-Day Creationism.  Don’t go expecting Stein to stand up for a literal view of Genesis.  However, anyone who is sick and tired of Richard Dawkins and his ilk receiving a free pass from the media will be delighted to know that Stein exposes the man for the intellectually dishonest academic lightweight he is.  At one point, Dawkins, who is completely unwilling to allow for the possibility of the existence of the God of the Bible, actually proposes the ‘alien seeding of the universe’ hypothesis!  That’s right, Dawkins is caught on screen admitting that he believes in intelligent design of the alien persuasion, but thinks those who believe in the God of the Bible are delusional.  When pushed with the obvious next question (where did the aliens originate), Dawkins can do no more than any other honest evolutionist... PUNT!  It is a brilliant moment.

I know most people don’t like documentaries, but this one is a must-see.  We are in the midst of a tremendous battle for the hearts and minds of an entire generation.  There is an inexorable link between Darwinian Evolution and atheism and this movie exposes the link brilliantly.  Of course there are no perfect films , and I am not saying that this one is perfect (so keep your emails complaining about the minor imperfections of the project to yourself), but I recommend this film highly.  In fact, there are two groups from our church going to see it tomorrow.

This film was great for me and my family since my son and I just returned from Munich and had a chance to visit Dachau.  He and I are also reading Darwin’s book, The Origin of Species By Means of Natural Selection Or The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life  (that’s right... that is the REAL title of Darwin’s racist work).  This movie was a tremendous addition to our hands-on tour and original source research.  It was refreshing to see Stein in some of the same places we visited in our investigation of Darwin’s legacy.

I am so glad that Ben Stein, a Jewish man, addresses this issue based solely on the scientific debate.  We can advance the ball on a theological level on our own.  Mr. Stein has simply alerted the rest of our sleeping culture to the fact that the revolution is already underway.
