President Bush was in Germany being pressured by the G8 to sell out American sovereignty and allow radical environmentalists to trump Congress and the American people when it comes to the future of our economy.  All of this because of a belief in anthropogenic (man as the source) Global Warming.  However, these decisions are being made before all of the facts are in.

 

    For instance, some scientists point to Global Warming on Mars as evidence that the activity of the Sun (as opposed to that of humans) accounts for recent climate change on both planets.  

 

    Being responsible with God’s creation is part of our dominion mandate (Genesis 1:22).  As a fisherman (and emerging hunter), I have no desire to eradicate species.  I want my children’s children to be able to hunt and fish after me.  I also want them to have forests filled with wildlife, mountains capped with snow and Zoos where they can see animals from around the world.  I want them to be men and women that train and care for animals, not act like them.  

 

    However, I also want my children to drive big SUVs filled with car seats and strollers (and boatloads of children).  I want them to travel in airplanes (and possibly even spacecraft).  I want them to be able to own land without written permission from the U.N., educate their children at home, start businesses, create wealth and preach the gospel to all peoples (Matthew 28:18ff).  

 

    You may ask what the G8 Climate Accord, the Kyoto Protocol on Global Warming and the U.N. Treaty on Climate Change have to do with these issues.  If so, you’re a lot like the man who realized that he brought a knife to a gun fight.
